May take this one down soon, but it's one of my absolute favorites from Liz and Justins wedding...it isn't the most glamourous or typical fairytale-like photo that was so easy to capture with this couple, but I feel like the calmness in her face represents the whole day more than any other photo could. They weren't nervous in the least, they knew that it was exactly what they wanted. And I think that feeling is one that everyone wants to feel at least once, about something.
I've been so busy with work and whatnot that I feel like I have neglected my poor camera and creative side in general. It's funny and a little sad how completely useless I feel when I'm not creating something.

week 40

week 40

so i went to a wedding on saturday and i appear in very few of the photos since i was taking loads myself. i took two of myself before i left the flat though - this and my 365 shot which is not good at all but i failed to take a back up shot. doh. anyway, this is my hat and my fabulous hairdo (i went to the hairdressers where it was curled and pinned in place in under 20 minutes - i can only dream of being able to do such things myself) and my make-up. i went for a nineteen forties pin-up kind of look. i was really happy with how it went and felt super glamourous all day. yay. and now that i know i can do it perfectly, i fully intend to wear this make up more often. yes indeedy.

how to make my dial up faster - Faster

After 10 years in prison, Driver (Dwayne Johnson) has focused on one thing – hunting down the people responsible for brutally murdering his brother. Now a free man with a terrifying purpose, he sets out to find and kill all those on his list. But on his heals are two men who will do anything to stop him – a veteran cop (Billy Bob Thornton) and a hitman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) who finds his match in this worthy opponent. Now, the hunter is also the hunted.

In Faster revenge is a dish best served quickly and with no remorse. Dwayne Johnson's character Driver has few lines, instead letting his actions--and the growls of the muscle car he's driving--speak volumes. Driver (given no other name for the duration of the movie) is released from prison, for crimes not initially noted, and immediately sets out in a fast car with a gun and a mission of revenge. He is coldly efficient with his kills, wasting no time or bullets as he delivers his brand of justice. The puzzle pieces of his crusade are snapped together with each victim he goes after; this is not a man who kills for the thrill. Each victim is specially selected, and Driver wants each to see his face to understand why they are being executed. Nor does he bother hiding his face from surveillance cameras or the police detectives (Billy Bob Thornton, Carla Gugino) chasing him. Driver is not a man who cares if he's caught, so long as he gets to finish his self-imposed task first. As word of his spree hits the news, one of his potential victims hires an assassin (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) to get to Driver first. Surprisingly, most of the characters show some depth of personality, in spite of being little more than caricatures of stereotypes (the troubled cop, the bored assassin). Faster isn't as reliant on mindless action as expected, but the story line is played out in such a way that you can't help rooting for Driver and his bloody revenge. Though parts are a tad predictable, all in all this is a thoroughly entertaining action flick. --Jill Corddry

Day 338/365 - My 9/11 Story

Day 338/365 - My 9/11 Story

This is the exact spot where I was standing on the morning of September 11, 2001 when the terrorist attacks occurred. It's a little park adjoining the back lawn of the White House in Washington, DC. The Eleventh was the second day of my brother's vacation in DC. He, my sister-in-law, and a couple of their friends came out to visit me and see the sights. They'd toured the National Mall on their own the day before while I went to work, but I took the Eleventh off so I could take them on a tour of the White House. I don't remember what else we had planned to do that day.

The four of them had battled DC traffic the day before, but on the Eleventh we followed my usual commuting pattern instead. We caught the bus that stopped at the end of my street and rode it to the Pentagon, where we caught the subway into the District. We got into DC at a little after 7:00 a.m. to get in line at the White House Visitor's Center for tour tickets, only to find that because it was no longer peak tourist season, they weren't bothering with tickets. Tours started at 9:00 a.m. and if you wanted to go on one you just got in line at this little park and waited your turn. After finding that out, we went to get breakfast, spent some time sitting around in Freedom Plaza, and then came to this spot to get in line.

We were standing there along with a gaggle of other visitors. The squirrels in that park were very accustomed to people and they were coming up and eating out people's hands while other tourists laughed and took photos. It was just another quiet, pleasant, run-of-the-mill morning in Washington, DC. My sister-in-law, who is very friendly, wandered up to the head of the line to chat with the NPS ranger who was standing there and then came back to relay the fact that he'd told her two planes had just hit the Twin Towers in New York. I knew something was happening then. One plane could have been some sort of accident. Two had to be something more sinister. I was puzzled and uneasy but didn't know what to make of things at that point.

My sister-in-law then went off to visit the ladies' room at the Ellipse and shortly thereafter my brother and I looked up and saw a crowd of people running in our direction and away from the White House. The White House was being evacuated. My brother and I walked over to the ladies' room to corral my sister-in-law and that's when I saw an enormous cloud of smoke on the horizon to the southwest. It was the widest and darkest cloud of smoke I'd ever seen and it just kept pouring up into the sky. My sister-in-law caught up with us and told us someone had said another plane had hit the CIA building. I remember frowning in the direction of the smoke column and saying "that's not where the CIA building is. The CIA is out in the middle of nowhere." Then after a pause it hit me. "That's where the Pentagon is." We had just been there a few hours earlier.

I knew then we had to put some distance between us and any other likely targets. I grabbed my brother and my sister-in-law and we went to retrieve their friends who were still standing along this wall. The four of us then started heading toward the Federal Triangle subway station to take the train home. At that time, I lived on the border of Alexandria and Annandale. The nearest Metro stop to me was the Van Dorn Street Station. We'd have to catch a bus there that would take us to my apartment. I knew we weren't going to be getting off at the Pentagon and catching the bus that had brought us in.

On our walk to the Federal Triangle station, one of my sister-in-law's friends stopped to film the scene with her video camera. I was more than a bit brusque and bluntly told her that now was not the time to be taking movies. Now was the time to be getting the hell out of town. We got on a train and headed toward Virginia. There was a small, Middle Eastern-looking man on our train who looked absolutely terrified that he would be singled out and attacked by an angry mob. My sister-in-law, who is one of the sweetest women you could ever meet, tried to reassure him and make him feel better as our train traveled along.

After making a few stops, the train driver came over the PA and told us that no trains were going south of the Pentagon station. We were going to be stopping at Rosslyn, where we could catch a bus to take us further. Things were surprisingly organized when we got off at Rosslyn and went outside to the street. There was a Metro supervisor there who told us where to stand and informed us that buses were on the way to take us south into Virginia. He wasn't sure how long it would take for them to arrive.

I thought it would most likely be at least another half-hour before the bus came, so I walked across the street to a fast food restaurant to buy a drink. I had just bought my drink when I looked out the window and saw that a bus was pulling up. I hustled back across and the street to rejoin my b

Yay! My turn...

Alright...so 16 things about me, huh?

01___I knew what sex was @ the age of 4

02___The 1st porn I had ever seen had been an accident. While living in Hawai'i @ the age of 4-5? I had gotten up to watch the usual Saturday morning toonage to discover one of my Dad's lovely porn films still playing. I remember what it was of, too. If you're interested, just ask.

03___The first lil' childhood friend I had had been my next door neighbor, also during the same time frame as #2. His name was Mickey & one day while we were laying on my Little Mermaid blow-up mattress I asked him, "Want to have sex?" I got in trouble.

04___Also around the same time frame, I made my first random 911 dial. Back then, the show Emergency 911 had been a huge hit & I wanted some action. [That's what she said] Dad said I would get arrested, but that honestly did not scare me.

05___I had been the pink ranger from Mighty Morphing Power Rangers for Halloween for 2 consecutive years.

06___I started masturbating @ the age of 4-5, & yes you can have an orgasm that young. Either that or some sex demon possessed my mother @ my birthing.

07___I will say whatever it is one my mind & if it hurts your feelings, I couldn't give a fuck less...unless you're special.

08___I am a girl who attends Club RSX meets w/ her boyfriend NOT b/c I'm his girlfriend, but b/c I am actually a girl who likes & KNOWS shit about cars. If you're just a girl who wants to tag along & look cute, stay @ home.

09___Feminists wouldn't like me. I think women in general make some of the stupidest mistakes.

10___I know much of the past couple of facts have been harsh, but that's one side of me. Obviously, I express myself in SL through a pair of twins or opposing sides or whatever you want to call it that resemble the very essence of who I am.

11___I am agnostic. No, not atheist. But, if I wanted to I could lie about observing the Sabbath just to get a Saturday or Sunday off for sure. I think it's b/c I had been raised Roman Catholic. To be quite frank, my world started to shake as soon as I had completed my Confirmation ceremony. O_O

12___Marilyn Manson is my anger therapist & frankly, I haven't had to use much of his services as of late. Hooray! I still love him.

13___I can officially type 52 wpm! \o/

14___I have caulrophobia & that is legit. I will cry if I even see a rubber red nose on my bed. *cringes*

15___When I was little, I would find a spider web to throw ants in it & watch w/ utter delight.

16___During my 1st two years of high school in the midst of my 1st serious relationship, I've had two anxiety attacks, how many suicidal thoughts, had to see my teacher for personal counseling w/ a dash of the high school psychologist. It made me mature faster than the average, though.

& just b/c I ♥ you all, I will add a bonus fact:

**___I have no clue what I'm going to do w/ all the anime collectibles (i.e. poster scrolls, pokemon cards, etc) that I've collected over the past many years when I move in w/ my bf this summer. XD

Faster - Ultimate Collector's Four-Disc Set (Faster / The Doctor, the Tornado and the Kentucky Kid)

Even if you've never witnessed the intensity of MotoGP motorcycle racing, Faster will take your breath away. It's a perfect primer for newcomers, offering a comprehensive survey of the fastest sport on two wheels, and it's guaranteed to satisfy hardcore fans with its detailed history, profiles of the top riders from the 2001-02 seasons, highlights of spectacular crashes and unforgettable races, and a veritable feast of the best MotoGP cinematography you're ever likely to see. From front-and-rearview cycle cameras to swooping overhead track coverage, filmmaker Mark Neale immerses the viewer in the MotoGP experience, enhancing the adrenaline-pumping visuals with expert interviews and commentary (and cool, low-key narration by globetrotting cycle-lover Ewan McGregor) that any sportswriter would consider authoritative.
Literally and figuratively, a lot of ground gets covered: From Kenny Roberts and the late Barry Sheene discussing their innovative knee-dragging styles and the origins of rear-wheel steering to the colorful rivalry of Max Biaggi and reigning champion Valentino Rossi (including Biaggi's infamous "Elbow Incident" at Suzuka in 2001), Faster never loses sight of the human element that makes this ultra-dangerous sport so fascinating. Track physician "Dr. Costa" is profiled (and offers some eloquently philosophical thoughts about MotoGP riders), along with innovative rider Garry McCoy (plagued by injuries); former champion Wayne Rainey (now paraplegic and active in kart-racing); young prodigy John Hopkins in his rookie season; and several other prominent figures in the world of MotoGP.
The bonus disc includes Faster & Faster, a sequel covering the 2003 and 2004 seasons, which saw the rise of the 500cc 4-stroke engine (and speeds in excess of 215 mph), Ducati's dominance and trend-setting removal of engine silencers (to boost power); Rossi's move to Yamaha; the fatal crash of Daijiro Kato; the victories of Sete Gibernau; and the rookie debuts of Neil Hodgson, Ruben Xaus, and Shane Byrne. Through it all, Faster and its sequel serve as the ultimate guide to MotoGP, certain to inspire future champions and armchair fans alike. --Jeff Shannon

6pk - Concha Nacar de Perlop - 2 - Day Cream

6pk - Concha Nacar de Perlop - 2 - Day Cream

Description: Concha Nacar De Perlop Day Cream is made with 100% nacre or mother of pearl and consists of three creams in one: Protective Anti-Oxidant Cream - Helps prevent skin damage from the environment and aids in retarding skin aging. Moisturizing Cream - Reduces water loss through the skin and helps to keep the skin hydrated and moist. Make-Up Base - This excellent vanishing cream helps prepare the skin to receive make-up. Concha Nacar is an anti-aging ingredient for the skin. It has been used since ancient times, and in China it used to be claimed that this product could stop the formation of acne scarring. Concha Nacar de Perlop is particularly very common in Latin America and its proven success is making its way to America. If you are looking for a better deal, we recommend you try Madre Perla. It contains twice as much cream: Bleach Cream , Day Cream and Night Cream . Directions: Wash face with warm water. Apply cream and rub in well, avoiding areas around the eyes and the mucous membranes. Allow cream to remain on skin for 1/2 hour to one full hour. Wash off with cold water to open skin pores. Use daily for best results. Minimize exposure to direct sunlight and use sunscreen during the day to avoid recurrence of spots. Tips and Tricks: Don't over wash or use harsh scrubs. Two gentle washings a day is sufficient. Too much cleaning can leave skin irritated and dry, triggering glands to produce more oil, increasing the likelihood of pimples or blackheads. Use oil-free or non-comedogenic products (those that won't clog pores) on your face. Size: 2 oz.

In today's grooming-obsessed world, I admit, I have some catching up to do. I'm certainly no feast for the eyes. I recognize this fact daily as I apply lotion to my many acne scars. But all this proper grooming stuff is a fairly recent thing, is it not? I'm certainly not knocking any man who wishes to look presentable, but at the same time I realize we're creatures of our times, and tastes do change. For example, I, even in my present state, would have been quite the catch eight or nine centuries ago. Shouldn't that count for something?

Take my smile, for instance. This mouthful of crooked, yellowing teeth jammed willy-nilly in a bloody bed of abscessed gums would've turned more than a few wenches' heads back in 1350. After all, I still have about 65 percent of them, which would have been way ahead of the curve for that time.

I might be sweaty and jowly, but you can't accuse me of being sooty or excrement- befouled. People in those days were lucky if they bathed once a year—many didn't at all. I do the deed every week to 10 days, so that definitely gives me a leg up on the competition. And look at my face—acne scars, yes, but not a single smallpox mark. Big plus in the Middle Ages. Never caught the bubonic plague, either. Maybe my fellow villagers would have considered me some kind of miraculous supernatural creature, like an archangel. Or the Church of Rome would've made me a saint. Then again, maybe I would've been branded a freak or a heretic for my excellent hygiene, so I'd have to tone it down.

I think my modern cotton T-shirts, soiled, stinking, and riddled with holes though they are, would have ranked among the finest linen found outside a royal court. But with my dry, leathery skin and copious body hair, I bet I would have worn a rough tunic or hair shirt well, too. Most people only had one outfit anyhow, so that would have been totally consistent with my tendency to rarely change clothes.

In the Middle Ages, the only way I would have been sexier is if I could play the lute or were a maiden-rescuing knight-errant.

Of course, at 27, I would've been getting on in years, but I don't think the maidens would have held it against me. They might have been greatly attracted to someone roughly their fathers' age who had managed to hold onto most of his teeth and remain leprosy-free.

Plus, I have gout. The disease of kings! Talk about flaunting the wealth! My inflamed, pus-filled foot would have let the womenfolk know just how many kidney pies and sweetbreads I could afford. I'd have been known as Lyle the Fat, but in a good way.

And it's true I have syphilis, as well, but who didn't back then? Besides, I have a few years before the pox reaches my brain and makes me permanently demented, which wouldn't have even been a factor in the Middle Ages because I would've been killed off by something else anyhow, like consumption or a witch hunt.

For 1,000 years ago, I'm in my prime!

Thinking about all this kind of puts my situation in a whole new perspective. I'm no longer quite so ashamed that I've neglected my broken plumbing to the point that I fling buckets of my own waste onto the sidewalk outside my home, or keep a 30-stone sow in my front yard. Or tan my own leather. It's an excellent medieval skill, you know. Try to find me some peasant lass from the year 1061 who wouldn't be highly impressed by a guy who knew how to soak a blood-caked cow hide in a fetid vat of urine and animal brains for several months, then cure it with a mixture of dog and pigeon feces. One look at that, and she'd want me to father her stillborn in no time flat.

Yes, this sexy serf would be pretty unstoppable, the toast of the fair, May Day, and public gibbeting alike. You all are missing out

Organic Medieval Lavender Healing Herbal Vinegar Toner by MisticalAcScents.etsy.com

Organic Medieval Lavender Healing Herbal Vinegar Toner by MisticalAcScents.etsy.com

Since ancient times up until Victorian, herbs steeped in vinegar have been used to tone skin and hair, as well as freshen garments and households. The cosmetic type of vinegar would be imbued with herbs that were more closely associated with beauty and skin conditions. This would then be diluted with rosewater, then a splash of the final mixture would be added to rinse water after washing the face, hair, or body. Depending on the herbs chosen, it helps cure everything from dandruff to acne, and makes an excellent mild toner, giving a healthy youthful glow to skin and hair. Used in the final washing rinse, it removes static and freshens clothes better than any commercial perfumed conditioner.

After much experimentation using as a guide both modern and period literature, the following concoction seems the best suited to current needs. A jar of up to 20 dried healing herbs such as rose petals, lavender, white willow, valerian, chickweed, elderflower, yarrow, comfrey root, lady's mantle, fennel, and witch hazel are chosen for their healing, anti-wrinkle, toning, scar reduction or other properties. White wine vinegar is then added and it is put in the sun for about two weeks to impart the herbal properties. Once filtered, an equal amount of organic lavender hydrosol is added. The resulting mixture is used in dilution; a few splashes in water to restore the pH acid mantle to the skin after cleansing, esp. with harsh soaps, and leaves the skin softer and more youthful, the hair bouncer with less residue, and virtually eliminates dandruff. Use as little as a few tablespoons in the final rinse of the laundry. Naturally, it's far less likely to irritate or cause reactions in even the most sensitive person. Restores pH and acid mantle of skin. Cures eruptions. Safe for babies and children. Environmentally friendly with all natural, biodegradable ingredients!

100 ml goes for $8. Special orders with particular herbs for healing or scent is extra, as is the apple cider vinegar versions, and please allow more time for delivery.
$2 off shipping with the purchase of two items. Three or more and shipping is free!

Scent is one of our strongest triggers. For the recreationists, I strongly recommend using authentic period fragrances on your garb and body. There is nothing like a period scent to help you and those around you feel like you've stepped back in time and are really living your persona!

With a peel of this strength, a full course of peels (8-10 peels) are needed to see optimal results. This is a 1 fl oz (30 ml) of peel solution. Glycolic Acid is a naturally occurring chemical belonging to the Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) family. Derived from sugar cane, this important AHA is the smallest of the fruit acids and is able to penetrate the skin, allowing it to effectively dissolve the "glue" that holds dead cells on the surface of the skin. The dead skin cells are what cause a dull, uneven skin tone, and the blocking of pores leading to blackheads and acne. This dissolving action of the Glycolic Acid allows the dead cells to slough off, leaving behind a smoother skin surface with clear pores. This also helps stimulate collagen formation under the skins surface which helps plump up the skin from beneath, smoothing out fine surface wrinkles and superficial scars. Our 40% Glycolic Peel is a mild glycolic acid peel and is suitable for all skin types and both beginning and experienced peelers. There may be some redness right after the peel, but generally there is not much if any actual peeling (hence the name Lunch Time Peel, you can go right back to work after you have it done). The 40% Glycolic peel is very safe when used as directed, but is a strong, professional strength peel (pH 1.5) and should be used only as directed. As with all products, a patch test is recommended to see how your skin reacts to the peel
